Frog Reproduction
Page 15
The reproduction of a frog is fascinating. It starts with the
male and female mating at a pond. The female frog lays about one
hundred eggs and the male covers the eggs with liquid from his
body. The eggs sink to the bottom of the pond. The egg is in a
kind of jelly. There are five stages of change from egg to adult
frog. These changes are called metamorphosis. Stage number one
is laying the spawn or eggs in the water.
