Rex Ingram

This stamp commerates Rex Ingram. Rex was born on a boat on
the Mississippi River. Rex began acting in 1919. His first
film was the first Tarzan movie. He stayed in acting and
he preformed in other movies like King Kong, Green
Pastures, and Huckleberry Finn. Rex was of the only
black people to be on the board of directors of the
Studio Actors Guildq. He was rejected for many jobs
because of his color. One of his best films was Cabin
in the Sky. All the cast members were black people.
