The Grasshopper
By Thomas
My insect project is on grasshoppers. I picked grasshoppers because they hop and they are like crickets. I like green and grasshoppers are green.
Grasshoppers can be camouflaged in green grass to fool their enemies. Grasshoppers are harmful because they eat farmers' crops. They can be helpful by eating weeds so that roses can grow.
Baby grasshoppers look just like their parents. However, baby grasshoppers do not have wings. When the baby grows up to be an adult he will have wings.
Grasshoppers can jump far. They have six legs and can fly only when they are an adult. Baby grasshoppers are in danger because oth
er animals can eat them.
