Charles Carroll was born in 1737. 
He was born in the Charles Carroll house 
in Annapolis, Maryland.  His parents were 
wealthy Catholics.  When he grew up he became 
the wealthiest person living in America.  Charles 
Carroll was one of four men from Maryland who 
signed the Declaration of Independence.  He is the 
only man to include his address.  This was a very 
brave thing to do because if America has lost the 
Revolutionary War, the first people the British would 
have looked to capture would have been the signers of the 
Declaration.  Luckily, Maryland won the war.  
Charles Carroll died in 1832.  He was the last of 
the 56 signers to die.  He died in his home at the age of 95.
